Laura Kalur was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Her father was a medical malpractice attorney defending doctors and hospitals and she fell in love with trial law and medicine at an early age.
After graduating from law school in Oregon, Laura started her career on the defense side but quickly learned that her heart and soul lay with protecting patients (plaintiffs), not insurance companies. She has practiced exclusively as a plaintiff’s attorney representing catastrophically injured patients and those that lost a family member for over 22 years. To Laura, plaintiffs work is not simply a job, it is a passion and a calling that requires skill, experience, tenacity, and dedication. She prides herself on being approachable and easily accessible to her clients. A strong attorney-client relationship and bond is critical to achieving the best results possible. She understands the lives of her clients have usually been turned upside down by an injury or the death of a loved one and takes the time to understand each client’s personal experience and needs.
Ms. Kalur started her own firm in 2007 and ran it until partnering with Knapp & Roberts in 2026. While she started her career in Oregon, she quickly branched out and began taking cases all over the country, including Arizona. She has handled a wide variety of medical negligence and wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases, including birth trauma cases. She has also handled mass tort cases involving defective medical devices. These cases have taken her all over the country where she has taken depositions, engaged in settlement mediations and tried cases in state and federal courts. Through this wide range and depth of experience, she has developed an invaluable network of medical experts and attorneys which enables her to provide exceptional services to injured patients, no matter where they are located in this country.
Laura strives to give her clients the compassion and legal representation they deserve.
